Higher than Mount Sumeru,

Deeper than a thousand oceans,

Vaster than emptiness,

The merits of renunciation are unimaginable. 

 

 

Renunciation is a conduct for leaving the dusty world.

Putting on a dharma robe,

Following the footsteps of the Buddha,

Relinquishing fame, wealth, and family,

Secluded in purity, cutting off. 

 

 

Solemnly restraining in behavior and precepts,

Always mindful and understanding the law of causality,

Comprehending the truths of suffering, voidness, non-self and impermanence,

Cultivating diligently with all one's heart,

Propagating the Dharma.

 

 

 

This Samsara world filled with impurities, I vow to step into,

Resolutely cultivating with great courage and determination. 

Renunciation, a noble conduct.

Cultivating beneficially, spreading the fragrance of Dharma to all.

We take a vow to follow the Buddha's example.
